About Us: Interserve Scotland...

Interserve's purpose is to make Jesus Christ known through wholistic ministry, in partnership with the global church, amongst the neediest peoples of Asia and the Arab World.

Our vision is lives and communities transformed through encounter with Jesus Christ

Interserve Scotland is one of 20 National Councils of Interserve. Interserve is an evangelical, interdenominational and multi-cultural agency which with over 600 partners from more than 20 countries. Interserve serves in more than 23 countries across the Arab world and Asia, and among Asian ethnic groups in Britain.

2002 was Interserve’s 150th Anniversary. Interserve Scotland is proud of the key roles that Scottish people played in the establishment of Interserve as the first interdenominational mission in Britain.

But more importantly, our adventure with God goes on. Join the adventure, and find your place in God's plan, wherever that may lead you.

Meet the staff

Grace Penney

Grace trained as an Outdoor Activities and Geography teacher. She taught in Norfolk and traveled, including working and trekking in Nepal. She worked for four years at the Christian Mountain Centre in North Wales before applying to BMS and working at the Kathmandu International Study Centre, for the first six years as the Geography teacher and then as Principal. She enjoys lots of sports, especially mountaineering, skiing and mountain biking. She also loves music, animals, sketching, photography and food.

Emily Platt

Emily Studied Business and Consumer Studies in Edinburgh. After graduating she spent a few months in Cameroon with Wycliffe before starting work with a car importing company to gain experience in buying. She then worked as Recruitment Consultant for Allied Healthcare before embarking on two years working as Recruitment Officer for INF in Nepal. On her return to the UK, Emily worked as Regional Personnel Officer covering Asia with CMS in London and Oxford. Some of the things she enjoys include the outdoors, travel and people.

Ellen Cooke

Ellen worked in various admin roles prior to joining Interserve in 1992. Prior to this she and her husband George managed their church’s bookshop for a number of years. She has three children from age 29 to 19 and two wonderful grandchildren. She manages to keep sane by walking and jogging.
