Teams

Want to arrange a team from your church or CU or other group? Or do you want to join an existing team?

Interserve (Scotland) organizes one or two teams a year to visit parts of the world where Interserve works. These visits can be organized to suit your group's needs, but normally involve some kind of service in the country and visits to other projects that Interserve and other missions are involved with. The aim is to help you see and understand what is involved in cross-cultural mission.

You can arrange a team from your church or CU or other group, or you may be able to join an existing team. Email us or call us (0141 781 1982) to discuss your ideas.

Prayer Teams

Join a Prayer Team

Interserve is looking for a number of small teams to go to various countries in Asia and the Arab World to support Interserve's work through intercessory prayer.

We want to see God at work in these situations in a powerful way and for that prayer is essential. We have had requests from workers in several countries for prayer teams to visit for between 4 days and 3 weeks.

Who can be part of these prayer teams?

We are looking for experienced intercessors, or those seeking to grow in this area, and those with a clear call to pray. They need to be willing to take guidance from partners who are already involved and are experienced in matters of culture.

Which countries?

Interservers in several countries have asked for a Prayer Team to visit. Details available on request.

How long?

Between 4 days to 3 weeks, depending on the availability of the team and the situation in the country to be visited.

The Program

  • A team of 2-5 people
  • A mature team leader – ideally someone with experience of working in a cross cultural setting.
  • Full orientation including to Interserve, to the country to be visited and to the nature of partners’ situations and involvement will be given.
  • In most situations the team will stay with Interservers in the country (this may not always be possible).

Finances

It is expected that team members will raise the financial support necessary for them to participate. Costs will vary considerable depending on the country to be visited and length of visit and will include flights, visas, travel insurance, vaccinations and in country costs such as food, accommodation and travel.

It is possible to combine the visit with personal holiday but these arrangements need to be made independently.

Applications

While applications are invited from anyone who is interested to participate we are particularly looking for groups of 2-5 people. To find out which countries are currently requesting teams, dates, costs and application forms please contact the office.
